Reputation, loneliness, satisfaction with life and aggressive behavior in adolescence

The present study analyses the relationship between adolescents’ perception of reputation and aggressive behavior among peers. The sample is made up of 1319 adolescents aged 11 to 16 years old. Statistical analyses with structural equation modeling were carried out to examine the direct and indirect effect of perception of reputation (real and ideal) on aggressive behavior. Results indicate that adolescents’ real and ideal reputations are related both directly and indirectly to aggressive behavior. The indirect effects suggest that loneliness and life satisfaction mediate the relationship between adolescents’ reputation and their aggressive behavior. These findings and their implications ar…

Long-Term Educational Sustainability: Educational Innovation in Social Vulnerability Contexts

This paper investigates the behavior of children from low socioeconomic status families and examines the effects of a socioemotional education program on aggression in children. The results of the program are compared according to the children’s gender and age, the family structure, the parents’ educational attainment, and social status. The results show that applying socioemotional education programs reduces children’s aggression and encourages positive development during adolescence. This positive development fosters open, expressive behavior.

Schulstress kommt in erheblichem Maße auch durch aggressive Interaktionen zwischen Schülern zustande. Aggressionen in der Schule können vielfältige Formen annehmen und verschiedene Ursachen haben. In diesem Beitrag geht es um Bullying, Mobbing und relationale Aggression unter Schülern. Wichtige Forschungsbefunde zu den verschiedenen Aggressionsformen werden dargestellt. Anschließend wird eine psychoanalytische Behandlung einer Jugendlichen wegen Mobbing vorgestellt. Die Therapie erstreckte sich über 70 Stunden und umfasste auch begleitende Elterngespräche.
